What makes a Chilcott Turkey so good?

Our turkeys are reared and processed on the farm so food miles are minimal.  

Our turkeys have a long and happy life, living up to 24 weeks old, significantly longer than commercial birds, meaning our turkeys have better shaped carcases with an outstanding taste.

We mix specialist turkey feed with our own grown oats, which means that a Chilcott turkey has a layer of fat under the skin so it should be nice and moist.

Our turkeys are housed in a spacious barn, bedded with our own straw. We allow them to roam in grass leys from 8 weeks old, when they have matured. We shut them back in their barns at night worry- free and away from predators.

We have a range of fruit trees in the fields where they roam, to allow for enrichment making for a happy life.

We finish processing our turkeys by hand, using traditional artisan methods.

Traditional processing methods are used on our farm, and the birds are plucked, finished by hand and hung in a cold store for at least a week prior to dressing.

We pack our turkeys in recyclable boxes, with cooking instructions, fresh herbs and vacuum-sealed giblets (which make excellent gravy!)
